The 16th SOGLIA Assembly was held in Malta on 24, 25, and 26 October 2025, marking a defining moment in the development and consolidation of the Confederation.

The Assembly welcomed more than thirty Grand Lodges, with official delegations from Australia, Europe, United Kingdom, Lebanon, Middle East, Africa, and the United States. This broad international participation reflected the strength, credibility, and growing influence of SOGLIA-SDWA, as well as the shared commitment of its members to unity, regularity, and constructive cooperation.

Proceedings were conducted with dignity and clarity, allowing for open dialogue on matters essential to the present and future of the Confederation. The diversity of jurisdictions represented enriched discussions and confirmed the maturity of SOGLIA as a structured and responsible international body.

A central and highly symbolic moment of the Assembly was the presidential transition. The outgoing President, Dr. Walid Abou Dehn, formally presided over the process and handed over the presidency following a proper and transparent election carried out by all Grand Masters present. The Assembly elected Borko Ziravac, Most Worshipful Grand Master from Serbia, as President of SOGLIA-SDWA for the term two thousand twenty five to two thousand twenty seven. MWGM Borko Ziravac is a founder member of SOGLIA-SDWA, and his election was received as a sign of continuity, trust, and respect for the Confederation’s foundational vision.

Another major achievement of the Malta Assembly was the establishment of a Society of Higher Degrees (SDWA) within the SOGLIA group. This important step represents a collective commitment to structured progression, shared standards, and coordinated supervision of higher degree work among member jurisdictions. It reflects a clear intention to preserve depth of teaching, ritual integrity, and doctrinal coherence while respecting cultural and linguistic diversity.

Beyond the formal agenda, the Assembly was enriched by moments of fellowship that strengthened personal and institutional bonds between Brethren. These exchanges reinforced the understanding that the strength of SOGLIA-SDWA lies not only in its statutes and resolutions, but in the quality of trust and fraternity shared among its members.

The Malta Assembly of October 2025 stands as a milestone in the life of SOGLIA-SDWA. It affirmed stability, democratic governance, and visionary growth, while setting clear foundations for the next phase of work under the leadership of its newly elected President and the newly established Society of Higher Degrees.
