SOGLIA 14th Assembly

The 14th Assembly of SOGLIA was held in Tirana Albania and marked a defining moment in the life of the Confederation through historic institutional acts carried out in an atmosphere of unity responsibility and legitimacy.

One of the central milestones of the Assembly was the solemn consecration of the National Grand Lodge of Albania. This consecration was performed with the participation and support of several member Grand Lodges and reflected a collective commitment to structured growth and regular Masonic development. Among the Grand Lodges present and actively participating was the Grand Orient of Lebanon affirming fraternal solidarity and continuity between jurisdictions.

The consecration ceremony was conducted with dignity precision and full respect for Masonic tradition. It symbolized the formal establishment of a sovereign and regular Grand Lodge and demonstrated the importance of collective recognition when founding new Masonic institutions. The presence of multiple Grand Lodges reinforced the legitimacy of the act and highlighted SOGLIA’s role as a guarantor of responsible and transparent cooperation.

A second major highlight of the Assembly was the election of a new President for SOGLIA. By the will of the member Grand Lodges the Assembly elected MWGM Dr Walid Abou Dehn 33 as President of SOGLIA. Dr Walid Abou Dehn serves as the Grand Master of the Grand Orient of Lebanon and his election reflected the confidence trust and respect placed in his leadership by the Confederation.

 

The election was conducted in a spirit of harmony and consensus underscoring SOGLIA’s commitment to orderly governance and collective responsibility. It affirmed the principle that leadership within the Confederation is grounded in service experience and dedication to Masonic values rather than personal ambition.

The working sessions of the Assembly were marked by constructive dialogue and clear focus. Discussions addressed recognition cooperation and the responsibilities associated with institutional growth. Throughout the deliberations a shared understanding prevailed that unity within SOGLIA is achieved through discipline legitimacy and respect for sovereignty.

The 14th SOGLIA Assembly in Albania stands as a landmark gathering that combined the creation of a new sovereign Grand Lodge with a clear transition in leadership. It strengthened internal cohesion reinforced mutual confidence and confirmed SOGLIA’s mission to serve as a serious and credible international Masonic body founded on integrity continuity and fraternal respect.
